I disagree-- I am a big fan of the agenda. Not the secret one-- you've got to come up with it with your Narrator-- but having an agenda means that when you come into contact with Duke Exposition, you don't just sit their like a lump & take it. "We have this troll problem..." "Well funny you should mention that, I'm looking for funding for a new abjuration technique that would help with this very thing..."
Of course though, right-- we're both on Team Seize A Plot Point. "Oh, did the Narrator drop a juicy hook? Well, if were were regular PCs we'd ignore it like the plague-- why, who can say-- but since we game we know that those hooks are called 'stories'..."
Right, I figure-- first act is backstory, maybe prelude or whatever. Second act is the plot of the campaign-- "oh, sure, we'll kill Sauron? Wait, not kill him, just burn his ring? Your campaign is confusing!"-- & the third is the "how does the character end up?"
