I do have plans for some Raspberry Pi projects - I've looked at it a lot, we started with the Conways Game of Life kit to get our soldering figured out before going on to something that could blow every fuse in the building first.
Cheating is cheating though - you have to raise your pokemon with love, or else trade them with others who have as well. Also, the new game makes grinding way less involved.
