Yeah! Let's do this! Let's make this happen!

Shoot, I know it's been a long time - it's been a long Winter and all that. I know what you're thinking - you're thinking - well. At least this guy, this Kingtycoon - at least he's not totally failing - at least he managed to somehow paint a picture. Anyway that's what I am thinking - because at least I did that. At least that.

I don't mean to get into the least or most that can be done. Who even knows! Is there really a person that goes to work and then goes home and watches television and goes to work again? Is there really even such a person that is that unthinkable? I think not! Pow.

Listen. I like that - 'listen...' I type to you: 'read this.' Listen - it doesn't mean what you think - like thinking, like not thinking, like thinking not. States of perception are what I'm getting at, perceptual states that modify the consciousness' own fundament and that in turn give birth to an idea. Now. I'm going to do something the epistemologists would advise against and I'm going to tell you where ideas come from. Ideas come from other ideas, they come from dreams which are ideas that come to you in forms like fairy-queens and riderless horses, they are images that burst in on the psyche unbidden and that are formed of the stuff of your experience. Your own mind's experience. They are the amalgamation of all the ideas you've heard repurposed into a new schema. New to you, new to the world? It's the same. Either way.

I was reading today and thought, because I like those things. I thought of a graveyard where the tombstones somehow read the bodies interred beneath them, they give off a signal and an animal, or a creature, or something - a monster even or a kind of person, they are drawn, by the grave marker to come to the grave and be, live. So that the graveyard becomes a zoolike menagerie, and all the people in it are known by their totems, and the mourners are told whether they were right or wrong to mourn the dead. Spirits and inward selves and true-realities are shown and known and no one has a secret self, in the grave, not in this graveyard, everyone is known for who and what they are - scorpions are scorpions, and giants are giants. You go to the grave and know if your great-great grandfather is worthy to be mourned.

And then I thought of the filth-clad man, who wears mud like armor, ferocious armor, baked or smeared onto him, he's repellent and grotesque, bright eyes behind the thick mire, does he know something of worth? Is he a danger? Is he a warrior for some unimaginable conflict?

And then I thought of what I would say about the 2 of Pens, which is my 2 of Swords - which is an idea. I write a little, here, when I show you what I've done because I want a little, to show you how ideas are born. Why the pen? Why the tarot? Where are these ideas drawn from? Other ideas. That's what I'll tell you. You have them, I have them, there's not a person who doesn't. It's the permanent blessing of being the wise-ape. We have ideas and can think.

Some of the swords - they might speak to the quality of your capacity for thought, a relativistic construction of one thought being more worthy than others. But more than that - they Swords - the Pens, here, speak to what is done about your ideas.

In the same way that the 2 of Cups speaks to what is done with a romance - a date - is it pursued or abandoned; as with the 2 of Phones/wands do you go to work or not - the 2 of pens deals with the beginning of a journey. I say journey as a way of referring to experience, an experience that you can choose to have or decline. Here, the experience is what you do with your idea.

The pens go in different directions - one up, one down, one is left in the head, tucked behind your ear, one is in your hand, at the ready, awaiting deployment. Do you let the idea stay in your head? Do you let it escape, forgotten? Or do you do something with it?

As with the Date or with Going to Work - there's not a right thing to do, there's just knowing that you will choose something. You have to. Will you learn how to paint, or try to teach yourself so that you can take on a project to examine your life in a mystical sense, will you decide to have mysticism in your life and praxis? Or will you not, will you let it go, and think of a way to make a million dollars, or a way to meet better people, or a new way to sleep. Will you write your book or read someone else?

What will you do with an idea. That is what this card is about - leave it go or write it down, develop it, take on that experience or abandon it for other ideas?
