Dec. 14th, 2018 03:40 pmOh life...
My knees were creaky & I felt terrible & then I remembered that I definitely need to supplement myself with vitamin D. And eventually I worked up the wherewithal to actually go to the store & get myself some. It was a whole troubled affair - full of forgetfulness, mental shadows & hard, long sleeps. But I'm good now! Pretty good.
Today the sun is shining - people at work are happy, cheer & goodwill is spreading around like a currency - these are good days. Tomorrow I'm going to confabulate with my writerly friend to help him sort out his book-writing affairs & then I'm going to run playtest variants of the good 'ol Game of the North - the In The Ruins set is... Kind of a white-whale at this point. I started it out & got it to where I thought "This is pretty close to done" and then... no - so much work needs doing - rework, redo. It's a nice break because I fell down hard trying to devise all-new dice systems for this other game - though I did pretty good figuring out the graphic design? Weird right? My sojourn into game design has taught me some graphical design.
So a book-making style weekend which is, I think, a good way for me to go. I'm ready to do well/right/better. Vitamin D! As for Vitamin A - she's going with her ma to Toronto - so I hope I get some neat photos & hear about her journey - I bet it'll be swell. Meantime - I have been working up a new spellbook - related to In The Ruins & my Saturday playtest - Alis Lark is a neat little NPC that's probably gonna end up as one of the Canonicals - a weird thing to notice about when you write these books - the characters that end up being the forever & fulltime mascots of your game. Here's some of Alis Lark's spellbook though.
