I've been working on my Spellbook
I already finished my first level spells
And now it's time for the level 2's. 2nd level spells take up two pages of your spellbook apiece - and so on and so on, it's going to get more arduous to scribe these gentlemen - and forget about memorizing them. There's a reason the party has to wait around half the day to get the wizard to come with them. Heck, the Wizard has a two sentence descriptor about his or her book that they carry around that appears to make all the difference between a normal, well adjusted murderer and an effing psycho.
Welcome to Level 2 of the Wizard's crazed ruminations
Ray of Enfeeblement

This spell effects a coruscating ray from the
caster’s hand. The opponent takes a penalty to
Strength equal to 25%, +2% per caster level
beyond level 3. This penalty applies equally to
mêlée and missile damage inflicted by an
affected creature as well. A successful saving
throw versus magic negates the
effect.
Detect Invisible
By means of this spell the caster is able to see
invisible characters, creatures or objects within
the given range, seeing them as translucent
shapes.
Change Self
This spell creates a dweomer of illusion, altering
the caster’s appearance. The illusion must
take the appearance of a humanoid, not taller
or shorter than the caster by more than 1’, but
apparent weight and clothing or items may be
altered in any way.
So I got some weird things going on. I have to say - thinking about the Ray of Enfeeblement makes it seem really scary - just a terrible, gross body-horror fuck you to anyone you want to throw it on. "Yeah, that's right buddy!", you're sick now, and terribly weak, you're wrecked. Just cruelty right? Thinking about just withering people away with a coruscating ray from your hand - yikes, that's rough.
Of course Change Self is the thing I'd probably use all the time - plus, from 1st level I've still got Charm Person - so I'm well equipped to be a complete creep, magic wise. Although - who knows? Maybe I'd just Change - Self on myself to have different outfits and haircuts, or hair for that matter, and so on. I don't know- I'm pretty vain and into being myself, I think I'd only try to be someone else for a reason. Not just for laughs. Then again - who knows how cynical you'd get if you could just appear to be anyone whenever? You might just end up hating people.
Of course it is impossible to get cynical enough to ever, ever cast Detect Invisibility. That is some serious shit right there. That is like playing Bloody Mary or something, something terrifying where you dare yourself to look. How pumped up do you have to be before you throw down your Detect Invisible. "Yeah, Okay! Okay, let's do this!" *casts spell --> *sees The Fucking Phase Spiders perched on everyone's head, sees people's goddammed SOULS. *passes out.
Yeah, I'm not going to memorize that one very much - that one is like a curse almost.
