Woah, woah woah - my IT contractor isn't coming in today. He shows up once a month to help me with the things outside my ability but today, he's not coming in - because of a crazy reason. One of his downtown clients wants to be prepared for a bare-metal recovery pending the Brelo verdict http://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/index.ssf/2015/05/brelo_verdict_wont_be_announce.html- the idea is that the city will apparently burn down. Now - Brelo was charged with some crazy shit that went down by the Windermere station almost 3 years ago - meanwhile poor Tamir is still on ice in the city's custody - not buried pending the city's investigation into the whole thing. How long until they put the murderous cops in that situation on trial eh? Another 3 years? The story I've seen, whether or not it's true, is that the city is now billing the kid's mother to store the body! Crazy intimidation tactics & brutal nonsense. I believe I read that it was an amount now closing in on twenty grand.

What I mean to say is that people are wise to expect the city to burn itself down. That's what a wise city would do - if it were as murderous & corrupt as ours. But, I'm a quitter. You know how you play civilization and after a while you feel like your cities or your country isn't really going anywhere so you quit out and start again? Maybe you don't, but that's my move every time. Start again and again and again. I always win those games - even on the hardest of modes, it's not the difficulty that makes me quit it's just the loss of empathy with the situation in the simulation. "Meh, eff this city without a river in the middle of a mountain, who cares about living there, this is a worthless city." Start again. Bare-Metal Restore.

I'm on mailing lists to go downtown to help out with being mad about Brelo & Tamir Rice - I've been on all kinds of these civic engagement mailing lists - but I almost never go to these events. For similar reasons to why I don't go to the weekly readings at the Communist bookstore. 1) I got my own antics to be up to. 2) I like the motivations behind these types of things - but then I meet someone involved in them and get turned way way off. 3) Probably FBI spies are there to collect my information & open files on me or others. Success to you FBI, you've intimidated me into compliance.

Really I just want to stop giving the city of Cleveland 2% of my income. They don't deserve it. They don't deserve anything. Tax revolts though right? How does that even work? You end up in jail without fail right? That's even if you could get your employer or the payroll company to stop the automatic deductions?

Bah, I'm testily awaiting progress bars. I can't pretend that I began to write this out of anything beyond that avid feeling of frustrated engagement that comes of not having a thing to consume that would satisfy you. When that feeling comes, then you have to make a thing. Because it didn't exist. For better or worse, this exists now.
