I think it is the spirit of OSR. Those old DnD books had a dude dressed like Indiana Jones & Alice in Wonderland enemies & jocular illustrations. Interjecting a sense of anachronistic humour codes a certain kind of Gamist distance to the list, reminding you that it is all about interpretation & not to take it too seriously.
I would say 33% of our Gchats consist of us arguing over specific points of friction between Gamist & Narrativist strategies.
