Aw man, to hell with winter. I'm having my sorrowful deep cries about it now because it is brutalizing me all the way up & down.

Here's the recap - Agatha's science project is due on friday because the moronic school keeps insisting on the goddammed project based learning line. Nothing is more pernicious and hateful in american education than project based learning. When you're a kid, you go to school because you have to, you kind of pay attention to the teacher while you fuck around reading books or writing your stories - or nowadays messing around on your phone. At the end of a couple of weeks they give you a test & you fucking take the test and that's it! But no - somehow the awful vanity of teachers is this vital creature that must be sustained by the sacrifice of children. You must pay attention, you must participate in class. It's so fucking gross & I feel nothing but pity for that kid that she has to do all this nonsense for her class instead of just learning the information and sleepwalking through assessments you have to be all on board with the stupid school. Hate.

Especially since it all falls to me to do the entire project - or at least find all the supplies & materials. So I do that, she writes out a two page discussion of the experiment & that's it. Project. What's been learned? That when the idiot science teacher says jump, your father grudgingly asks how high. Fucking school.

Well I had to go get the tri-fold, that was a whole mission in the snow, then also drop it off at her mother's house & she's not there? Nobody is? Then she didn't go to school today? This is 100% because of the goddammed circus that danielle is all about. She's running around on her husband with these circus performers? And now it means that she sends her kids off (my kid, without permission!) to her husband's parents house - so Agatha misses school, - which has happened so many times now that she's probably going to have to repeat this grade...

Seriously, I was planning to buy a house this year, but I'm going to have to spend all this money on a lawyer. I fucking know it.

Meantime the winter. I took my second fall of the year -

This one caused my blood to come out because of all the sharp salt crystals everywhere- so I mashed salt into my hands (a defense wound) until I bled. That happened this morning on the way to work - so I did at least get to pass that vital & important rite of passage where I got my blood on the RTA. Now we are brothers. Me & the #10.

Just Fuck Man. I'm tired.

Aw, don't blame the teachers :( My parents have been retired for like 10+ years now but they taught 33 and 32 years each and I can promise you they and their colleagues hated the shit that was foisted on them and did what they could to fight it. (They both taught middle school for that many years, the project-based stuff was only at the high school level though.)

I hate that you have to spend a lot of money on lawyers but I hope A ends up with you. You're a good dad and father.
